RuPaul Proves She’s the Real “Glamazon!”

With the season four finale of RuPaul’s Drag Race fast approaching, we may all be wondering who will become America’s next drag superstar. Will it be Chad Michaels? Sharon Needles? Or Phi Phi O’Hara? Seems RuPaul isn’t ready to give up her crown in her latest music video for her new single “Glamazon”.

Just when I thought my week would be a depressing drag, the girls of RuPaul’s Drag Race Season 4 along with the queen herself brought a smile to my face with the debut of RuPaul’s music video for her attitude-filled dance track. I have been in love with the fierce song since the parent album was release this past year. I am glad their is a visual treat to go along with the catchy effort. If RuPaul’s beauty was not enough for one video, she decides to throw in every drag contestant and guest celebrity judge that made an appearance on this season of her hit reality show. The result is a three minute video of pure silliness, campiness and makeup that would make anyone jealous. The appearance of the final three contestants, Chad Michaels, Sharon Needles, and Phi Phi O’Hara, was expected as RuPaul puts her drag children in all her videos.

RuPaul’s Glamazon was released April 25, 2011.

While the “glamazons” go around destroying everything in sight, including celebrities such as Jennifer Love Hewitt, Rose McGowan and Pamela Anderson, RuPaul is shown inside some sort of control center witnessing all the chaos until she finally steps in to put a stop to the madness herself. She shows just why she is the queen and why she will never give up the crown. I am a fan of all of RuPaul’s over-the-top dance efforts and “Glamazon” is just another I blast all day, I feel fierce when it plays. The video is funny, carefree and showcases the work of a real artist. It may not have been made on the largest of a budget, but RuPaul makes it work like I expect her to. Watch the hilarious, B-movie-esque video for RuPaul’s newest single, “Glamazon”, and be sure to watch the finale of RuPaul’s Drag Race airing this Monday.
